Inktegration™: The Future of Standardised Bioink Preparation

The Inktegration™ system is a patented dual-syringe mixing method explicitly developed for the sterile and reproducible reconstitution of powder-based bioinks. Its fully enclosed format enables controlled hydration, homogeneous mixing, and accurate concentration adjustment, supporting consistent bioink preparation across batches.

This standardised process reduces variability and ensures uniform bioink properties, including viscosity and gelation behaviour. Bioinks can be freshly prepared on demand, allowing flexibility in timing and formulation while maintaining high reproducibility.

By delivering contamination-free, rehydrated bioinks with reliable mechanical and handling properties, Inktegration™ supports streamlined workflows in tissue engineering, bioprinting, and regenerative research. It serves as both the mixing platform and delivery system, making it ideal for research environments where consistency, sterility, and customisability are critical.

TECHNOLOGY

CollGel™: Tunable Bioinks for Regenerative Medicine Research

The CollGel™ Series is a collagen-based family of bioinks developed as a foundation for customised formulations that replicate the structural and biological characteristics of the extracellular matrix (ECM). Designed for cell encapsulation applications, these bioinks create a supportive environment for cell proliferation, attachment, migration, and behaviour within three-dimensional scaffolds.

We introduce CollGel-01, the first product in the series, formulated with type I atelocollagen derived from porcine sources and processed under medical-grade conditions. With immunogenic telopeptides removed, CollGel-01 offers high purity, low immunogenicity, and consistent performance across applications ranging from advanced in vitro models to early-stage translational research.

01

RECONSTITUTION-BASED BIOINK

CollGel-01 is a reconstitution-based bioink supplied as a lyophilised collagen powder. It offers extended shelf life, preserved bioactivity, and sterile handling. In contrast to conventional solution-based bioinks, which require cold storage and have limited stability, CollGel-01’s dehydrated format eliminates the need for frozen logistics and reduces contamination risks.

Pre-filled into sterile syringes, the powder is reconstituted using the Inktegration™ mixing system, which also functions as the mixing reservoir. Users can hydrate the powder with their preferred sterile buffer or culture medium, allowing full control over the final concentration and formulation.

This setup enables on-demand preparation of freshly rehydrated bioink with batch-to-batch consistency, improving reproducibility, usability, and workflow standardisation across a wide range of bioprinting applications.

02

TUNABLE CONCENTRATION AND FORMULATION

CollGel-01 provides precise control over collagen concentration, allowing researchers to tailor mechanical and rheological properties for different tissue types, printing methods, and structural requirements. By adjusting the reconstitution ratio with PBS, culture media, or sterile water, users can fine-tune viscosity, gelation, and printability to fit specific biofabrication workflows.

Compatible with extrusion, inkjet, and composite-based SLA systems when combined with components like GelMA, CollGel-01 integrates easily into diverse bioprinting setups. At lower concentrations, typically between 30 and 60 mg/mL, it forms soft, hydrated hydrogels ideal for printing delicate, cell-dense structures where high viability and nutrient diffusion are critical. At higher concentrations, up to 90 mg/mL, it exhibits increased stiffness and viscosity, suitable for fabricating structurally stable and architecturally defined scaffolds.

This tunability supports optimal cell–material interactions and enables the fabrication of bespoke 3D constructs for regenerative medicine, disease modelling, and functional tissue engineering.

03

BIOMIMETIC EXCELLENCE

Collagen is the foundational structural protein of the extracellular matrix (ECM), providing a biologically relevant scaffold for supporting complex cellular behaviour. CollGel-01, formulated with type I atelocollagen, is manufactured under ISO 13485-certified, GMP-compliant conditions, making it suitable for both research and early-stage translational applications.

CollGel-01 undergoes natural fibrillogenesis under physiological conditions, forming a self-assembled fibrillar collagen network without the need for chemical crosslinkers. The hydrogel forms at neutral pH with balanced ionic strength, closely mimicking the structure and function of native ECM.

These properties ensure high purity, biocompatibility, and low immunogenicity, making CollGel-01 particularly well suited for biologically sensitive applications such as wound healing, cardiac patching, and implantable tissue constructs where ECM fidelity and material performance are essential.
